We are Russell and Helene Kern. In August 2012 we decided to begin a project that will bring many benefits to the underprivileged in our motherland - Sri Lanka. We were greatly encouraged and supported by Mr Ellsworth Fernando – my Father in law, a reputed Tea planter. He travelled extensively, looking for good Coconut lands, to realise our goal. When that did not materialise, he set his eyes on a neglected Cashew estate, in Morapathawa, Wanathavilluwa, situated in the Puttalam district, in the North Western Province of Sri Lanka, approximately 160 kms north of Colombo; which he enthusiastically recommended. Initially we were sceptical, as the task at hand was huge, but, with his rich knowledge and experience he saw the potential in this land.
Together with a dedicated team of workers we commenced work. Although we faced many challenges we overcame them all and succeeded in transforming the land to make it productive and realise its full potential. . With the addition of the factory we are now able to offer our Customers a complete service from Harvesting – Packing.
Our vision encompasses:
Providing employment to the people of the Village, improving their livelihood and contributing to the economy of the country.
Producing the Best quality Sri Lankan Cashew for our Loyal Customers, who have encouraged and supported us in our journey.
Being environmentally friendly and sustainable, as no chemical fertilisers or weedicides are used.
